State Certified Trainers
Looking to Become a State Certified Trainer?
The Oklahoma State Department of Education is proud to offer individuals the opportunity to become an Oklahoma State Certified School Bus Driving Instructor. Please Note: Certifications are currently awarded and maintained by the OSDE, not OAPT.
Required Qualifications
Instructors teaching the Oklahoma School Bus Driver Certification Course should:
Valid Class B CDL
Hold a valid Oklahoma Commercial Driver License (CDL), Class B with endorsements P (passenger) and S (school bus).
2 Years of Experience
Must have experience driving a school bus in Oklahoma for at least two years.
Approved Education Course
Complete a School Bus Driver Instructor course approved by the Oklahoma State Department of Education OR Complete “Instructor Internship” by assisting with two Oklahoma SDE School Bus Driver Certification Courses, under the supervision of an SDE certification instructor.
