It is my privilege to invite you to the 35th annual Oklahoma Association for Pupil Transportation Conference (OAPT). This year’s conference will be June 6-9, 2010 in Tulsa at the Renaissance Hotel. We are celebrating our 35th year and we are proud to say that the organization is vibrant and growing. The Transportation industry is constantly being challenged and we look forward to meeting these new challenges together as an organization. Through OAPT we gain knowledge, strength, and determination to meet these challenges together.
This year’s summer conference will be jam packed with many interesting speakers, breakout sessions and workshops. And of course we look forward to having our best Trade Show ever. Many of you will be happy to hear that the annual conference golf tournament returns on Sunday. The conference will officially open with the dynamic keynote speaker, Dr. Jeff MaGee. Jeff Magee is the writer of the national Leadership Column that you may have seen in your own local business newspaper serves as the publisher of PERFORMANCE Magazine and is the author of more than 20 books, transcribed into multiple languages, including 4 best-sellers. Tuesday morning we will climb the highest mountain with keynote speaker Jeff Evans. From the summit of Mount Everest back to the Board Room, Jeff Evans captivates audiences worldwide with the lessons he has learned from the trail. Based on his own experiences as a world-class mountain guide, specifically with blind climber Erik Weihenmayer. Jeff draws upon the hidden metaphors from the world of adventure – Leadership, Commitment, Teamwork, and Vision – to bring them to life in the world of business and everyday achievement.
We are also excited to announce an expanded two day Mechanics/Technician program giving the Mechanics/Technicians an opportunity to attend either one day or two days of current technical workshops this year! Also during the conference we will discuss further possible expansion of offerings for Mechanics/Technicians for the future.
Let me also mention that at the Monday night Awards Banquet we can look forward to being entertained by Dale K the hypnotist. And on Tuesday Family Night we will gather at Dave and Busters for an evening of fun and games!
Mark your calendars and get ready for this year’s School Bus Rodeo. The rodeo will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2010 at the Edmond Fire Training Center.
You will find in this packet all the necessary registration forms and applications needed for the many events taking place. Please fill them out as soon as possible and return to the addresses indicated at the bottom of each form. On behalf of the OAPT Board of Directors, I would thank all of the vendors and transportation directors that are affiliated with OAPT for their support.
